Well resently stompaz n gargantz have become very popular with everyone it seems. The three main
downsides to these machines are...
1) Cost to build 2) Time to build 3) VDR points cost
So erez a conversion
that will give you a stompa with non of those drawbacks. The concept it to make a LemanRuss "or Demolisha" into a Stompa
which uses basic Russ "Demolisha" rulez
Stage one.
Build the sides "double width works best" The cut away some of the ridge the hull fits around
so the hull can be positioned as shown.
Stage 2
Ive used both sponsons to make an arm "of sorts" Some plasticard is needed to get
the sponson to look right "see pic"
Stage 3
First job is simple. Cover the turret hole with a square of plasticard and use the
two large Russ wheelz to make a Kannon Mounting the ZapGun into the Russ engine-bay is a bit more tricky. First you need to remove some of the engine bay
as shown. Cover the top bit with a strip of thin plasticard. Add a platform inside the hull for the ZapGun to sit on. Trim
off 2mm of the ZapGun Sponson top. "remove the bit with the hinges on" Also trim off the ridge on the underside of this
peice so it sits correctly. Position the ZapGun, glue the top on, and glue some strips of plasticard around the bottom
of the ZapGun so it rotates without any side-ways movement.
Stage 4
Ive built the rest of the hull from plasticard. The Russ hull has ben extended by
2cm and Ive also followed the ridges on the inner side plates making the whole thing more solid looking.
Stage 5
Ive made a start on the head. Its made from the stock Russ turret which has had the
front chopped off and covered with some plasticard.
The stompa stands a mere 5" tall.
Stage 6
Making an arm mounted SupaBigShoota. Its uses Russ Heavy Bolter rulez... but its acts as both Heavy
Bolters in one Finished off the ZzapGun Sponson. And started work on the scratch built trakkz.
The shoota has a 90 degree fire-arc.
Also added the custom trakkz.
Ive started work on the CC weapon which will be a Hammer. Ive made it poseable "up n down" with
the aid of some rubber washers n a plastic dowl. Its tight fitting so shouldnt be floppy but Ill but a counter weight on the
box section so the hammer will stay in the raised position. Also started doing some work on the engine.
Erez the finished Hammer
Heres a few pics of the back...
Done most of the engin work, needs pipes n gubbinz
Done some more work on my Stompa. Ive widened the left shoulder so it looks more balanced. Added
a shoulderplate to the right n left sides. Worked on the face area too.
Ive added some front ramming spikes, the lower ground clearance makes it look more solid I think. Ive
used a Kan body for the Gunna'z vison slit. And there is now a door at the rear so the boyz can get in. Also added some
extra armor plating to the sides.
Ok well apart from a few very minor details "ie drilling that Slugga Barrel, addition of tiny rivits
etc..." this Stompa is finished.
It stands 5.5" tall, 6.5" wide and 5.5" long.
Added the final bitz n bobs now its ready for painting!
